Social media settings

Choose which social profile links your theme shows in shared social icon areas.

Use these settings to manage the social profile links shared across your theme. When you add a full URL for a network, that profile can appear anywhere the theme displays social media icons; when a field is left blank, that network stays hidden.

You can find additional format guidance in the Social media settings reference.

These are global links, not one-off entries for a single area. Updating a profile here helps keep social icon areas consistent across your theme and reduces the chance of outdated or mismatched links appearing in different places.

This also gives you a simple way to control visibility. If you stop using a network, removing its URL hides it from social icon areas that rely on these settings.

Only networks with a saved link can appear. Leave unused platforms blank rather than filling every field.

Enter the full public URL for each profile you want to feature. In most cases, that means a complete profile, channel, company page, or invite link rather than a handle or username by itself.

Using the full URL matters because each network has its own address format. If the link is incomplete or pasted in the wrong format, visitors may land on the wrong page or see a broken destination.

You do not need to promote every available platform. A focused set of active channels usually creates a cleaner experience and gives customers clearer next steps.

Choose networks based on how you actually engage with customers. Visual brands often prioritize Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, or YouTube, while community and support-driven brands may lean toward Discord, Telegram, Messenger, or WhatsApp.

Some networks use profile URLs, while others may use invite, messaging, or shortcut links. These can be more sensitive to formatting, so it is worth testing them after you save your changes.

WhatsApp needs special attention. Use your full phone number in international format, without spaces, brackets, dashes, leading zeroes, or other special characters.

Test messaging and invite-based links carefully, especially on mobile. Small formatting mistakes can send customers to the wrong conversation, an expired invite, or a non-working destination.

Review these settings whenever your brand accounts change, a platform is retired, or your marketing focus shifts. Because these links can be reused across the theme, one outdated URL can affect multiple customer touchpoints.

It is usually best to add a new network only after the profile is public, branded, and ready for visitors. That helps avoid sending traffic to unfinished or inconsistent social pages.

  1. Use complete URLs. Paste the full public address for each profile so social icons lead customers to the correct destination.
  2. Keep your selection focused. Add only the networks you actively manage to keep social areas clean and trustworthy.
  3. Test contact-based links. Double-check WhatsApp, Messenger, Discord, Telegram, and similar links after saving because they are easier to misformat.
  4. Match your brand presence. Make sure profile names, imagery, and public details are ready before you surface a new channel.
  5. Update links as channels change. Revisit these settings when accounts are renamed, paused, or replaced so shared social links stay accurate.
  6. Preserve the default look when you want consistency. Blank or default-style values usually keep the surrounding area aligned with its existing styling, while explicit color or media choices make that area stand out more on its own.
