Localization selectors
Use this block to add country, currency, and language controls where customers can easily find them, such as a header utility area or footer. It may need extra setup before the selectors become available; for setup details, see Shopify documentation on sections and blocksCompany XYZ documentation on localization selectors
Selector content and layout
Section titled “Selector content and layout”Choose whether this block shows the country and currency selector, the language selector, or both. This is useful when customers only need one type of regional control, or when you want to keep the interface as compact as possible.
Use the input style settings to balance clarity and space. Icon-only styles take up less room and suit tighter layouts, while small field styles are easier to recognize as interactive controls.
The mobile input style deserves extra attention in compact layouts. Choosing the small field style on mobile forces the block onto its own row, even if your other mobile layout choices are more inline.
Use the icon-only mobile style if you need this block to stay compact in a crowded mobile header. The small field mobile style will always take a separate row.
Standard block settings
Section titled “Standard block settings”Color settings
Section titled “Color settings”These settings let you override the usual theme colors for this block only. Adjust icon and text colors when the block sits on a different background or needs stronger contrast to remain easy to spot. Company XYZ documentation on colors
Visibility settings
Section titled “Visibility settings”Use visibility controls to show this block on desktop, mobile, or both. This is especially helpful when you want localization controls in one device layout but prefer to keep another layout cleaner or less crowded. Company XYZ documentation on visibility
Usage notes
Section titled “Usage notes”- Show only useful controls. Enable just the selectors your customers actually need to change regularly.
- Match style to available space. Use icon-only styles for tighter utility areas and small fields when clearer labeling matters more than compactness.
- Plan for mobile wrapping. Expect the block to move onto its own row if you choose the small field mobile style.
- Check both viewports. Review desktop and mobile versions separately, since layout, alignment, visibility, and spacing can differ between them.
- Keep messaging readable. If customers will be changing values in a form-like setup, make sure any success or error feedback stays easy to read in both empty and submitted states.
- Avoid duplicate regional controls. Hide this block in layouts where the same choices already appear elsewhere to keep navigation cleaner.
