Testimonial
Use this block to feature a customer quote, add social proof, and optionally connect that endorsement to a specific product. It works best when the message is short, believable, and easy to scan alongside nearby product or promotional content. Source: Testimonial block reference

Core settings
Section titled “Core settings”The main settings control the testimonial itself: rating, quote content, source name, and an optional product link. A clear source and a concise quote usually do more for trust than a long, overly polished testimonial.
If you assign a product, the block can visually reinforce which item the quote refers to. The product image style setting only matters when a product is selected, so quote-only testimonials can leave it alone.
Imagery settings
Section titled “Imagery settings”This group lets you add optional media to change the look and feel of the block. You can place the media above or below the testimonial depending on whether you want the quote or the visual to lead.
Use a static image when you want a simple visual anchor, or use video when movement adds useful proof or personality. A poster image is especially helpful for video because it gives the block a cleaner first impression before playback starts.
Aspect ratio settings help control cropping and layout across devices. If your media already has a strong natural shape, the default ratio is often the safest choice, while the separate mobile ratio can help prevent awkward crops on smaller screens.
Autoplay can make the block feel more dynamic, but it should not distract from the quote itself. Looping works best for short, subtle clips rather than longer testimonial videos.
If you enable autoplay, muted playback is usually the better choice for a smoother browsing experience.
Standard block settings
Section titled “Standard block settings”Color settings
Section titled “Color settings”These settings override the usual card styling for this block only, including background, border, heading, icon, and text colors. Use them when the testimonial needs stronger visual separation or should match a campaign-specific palette. Card settings reference
Prioritize readability over decoration. Testimonials need clear contrast so the quote, source, and rating stay easy to scan.
Visibility settings
Section titled “Visibility settings”Visibility controls let you hide the block on desktop or mobile. This is useful when the testimonial media, crop, or overall density works better in one layout than the other. Visibility settings reference
Editor settings
Section titled “Editor settings”Editor settings let you rename the block in the editor sidebar for easier organization. This is helpful when you have several testimonials and want to label them by customer, product, or campaign.
Usage notes
Section titled “Usage notes”- Keep quotes brief. Short testimonials are easier to read and usually feel more credible than long promotional copy.
- Match the product carefully. Link a product only when the quote clearly supports that specific item, and review the result with the selected product image style if one is enabled.
- Review both viewports. Desktop and mobile can differ in layout, alignment, visibility, and media behavior, so check the block on both screen sizes before publishing.
- Choose media with intent. Add an image or video only when it strengthens the testimonial instead of competing with it, and expect separate desktop and mobile media choices to change cropping and readability.
- Use stronger styling sparingly. Transparent or default-looking color choices tend to preserve the surrounding design, while explicit colors, gradients, or media overrides make the block stand out more independently.
- Watch the flow. If the testimonial includes a product link, make sure the destination and any commerce actions still feel natural for the product, variant, quantity, and availability shown.
