Why do some product cards have the "View Product" button while others have the "Add to cart" button?
Product card buttons depend on whether a product has variants and how the variant interface is configured.
Product cards choose the most appropriate action based on your Product cards settings and the product’s setup.
- Add to cart or quick-add controls appear when quick add is enabled and the product can be added safely from the card.
- View product appears when the customer needs to open the product page first—for example, to choose an option, use a subscription purchase option, or review an unavailable product.
If variant controls are enabled for product cards, customers may be able to choose an option without leaving the current page. You can review these controls in Theme settings → Product cards. For product setup details, see Shopify documentation on variants
