Apps can add functionality to your Shopify store and may work alongside your Align theme. Before installing an app, review its listing and confirm that it supports the feature you need.

Install an app through the Shopify App Store

1. Find an app you want to install, then open its listing.

2. Select Add app.

3. In your Shopify admin, select Install app to authorize the app.

   After installation, open the Apps page in your Shopify admin to access the app.

Install a custom app

If you want to install a custom app, use the unique install link provided by its developer.

Install an app with a third-party install link

Third-party install links work only for apps created before December 5, 2019. Links for apps created after this date show an error in your Shopify admin and cannot be used to install the app.

1. Get the app’s install link from the developer’s website and open it.

2. In your Shopify admin, select Install app to authorize the app.

   When you install an app this way, Shopify admin displays a warning that the app is not from the Shopify App Store. This does not necessarily mean the app is unsafe, but it has not completed the verification and approval process required for apps listed in the Shopify App Store.

Usage notes

• Review the app listing. Confirm that the app provides the features you need before authorizing it.
• Use developer links carefully. Use third-party install links only when you trust the developer and understand that the app has not been verified through the Shopify App Store listing process.
• Check the app location. After installation, open the Apps page in your Shopify admin to start using the app.
• Get the right support. Contact the app developer for app-specific setup or behavior. For Shopify-admin, account, billing, or platform issues, contact Shopify support. For Align theme guidance, contact Company XYZ support.
